The Climbing World Cup returns to Chamonix for three spectacular days of competition from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 July 2025. As it has every summer for several years, Place du Mont-Blanc will host the world’s top climbers for two signature disciplines: lead climbing and speed climbing.

Nearly 150 athletes from 30 countries will battle it out on dizzying outdoor walls. Among them are global stars: Samuel Watson, speed climbing world record holder, Lijuan Deng, current world number one, and Toby Roberts and Ai Mori, both winners in Chamonix last year. Representing France, Sam and Zélia Avezou will aim for glory, alongside Hélène Janicot and Max Bertone, the rising 18-year-old prodigy.

But beyond the sporting spectacle, this is a true community festival — free and open to all. A brand village, climbing taster sessions, film screenings, and DJ sets promise to keep Place du Mont-Blanc buzzing all weekend. Two climbing walls open to visitors will be accessible: a spray wall set up by Simond (bouldering structure) and a wall from the Chamonix Guides Company, with equipment available on site. On Sunday, the boldest visitors can even try their hand at the speed wall — just like the pros.
